Ms. Piekut's Message

Welcome!

You are in a wonderful place to begin your child's accelerated academic journey! Whether this is your first time researching tutoring services or are looking for a different tutoring experience, my team and I are dedicated and ready. 

Before transitioning into my role as a Learning Specialist, I worked closely with at-risk youth as an Educational Counselor in an alternative school environment. My focus was on assisting young individuals who were grappling with academic setbacks, delinquency, substance abuse and significant social-emotional and behavioural challenges. My goal was to help them reintegrate into the traditional high school program. 

During my time with these students, I came to a profound realization. Many of them were simply young people who had slipped through the cracks of the public education system. They had not received the necessary support to address their learning differences, leading to a loss of confidence and a decline in self-esteem. Unfortunately, this often resulted in school dropout and a path toward life on the streets.

Witnessing these struggles was truly heartbreaking. In an effort to engage these students in meaningful learning experiences, I focused on building nurturing and supportive relationships with them. I helped them discover their unique gifts, strengths and talents. This approach empowered and motivated them, teaching them resilience and ultimately preparing them for academic success.

One particularly memorable student, Mike, had struggled significantly in math. However, at the end of the school year, he received "The Most Improved Award." Witnessing his pride and transformation in front of the entire school was a pivotal moment in my career. It was then that I decided to pursue a career as a Special Education Teacher for young children. My aim was to identify and support learners with learning disabilities early, before they lost hope in themselves. This decision has since become my life's passion.

The right tutor makes all the difference! It would be my pleasure to be that teacher for your child. My team and I are here to teach, support and guide your child's growth and achievement simultaneously building self-esteem, growing confidence and a thirst for life-long learning.
